This series of works by Clément Gbegno, inspired by the profound symbolism of twins, explores their existential journey and their sacred importance in African culture, particularly in the southwest of Togo, in Aného. Twins are revered, and rituals accompany both their birth and death to maintain their presence among us. Through these works, Gbegno celebrates the connection between tradition and memory, emphasizing the importance of preserving our cultural roots and sharing these memories to create a lasting balance in our lives.
